  one of our case studies examined the responses of the jehovah’s witness organisation to allegations of child sexual abuse.

  we also held an institutional review hearing to provide an opportunity for the jehovah’s witness organisation to inform us of its current policies and procedures in relation to child protection and child safe standards, including responding to allegations of child sexual abuse.as of 31 may 2017, of the 4,029 survivors who told us during private sessions about child sexual abuse in religious institutions, 70 survivors told us about abuse in the jehovah’s witnesses.

  Something about redress, and monetary payments

  As part of our case study, the Jehovah’s Witness organisation provided us with files containing allegations, reports or complaints of child sexual abuse. They provided us with documents relating to at least 1,800 children and over 1,000 alleged perpetrators.
  

  I see a lot of KHs going up for sale eventually in Australia to pay the victims.

  1. The appropriate level of monetary payments under redress should be:
     

     1. a minimum payment of $10,000

     a maximum payment of $200,000 for the most severe case

     an average payment of $65,000.

     Monetary payments should be assessed and paid without any reduction to repay past Medicare expenses, which are to be repaid (if required) as part of the administration costs of a redress scheme.

  I think that if they don't follow the recommendation that the monetary sanctions to follow could be very severe in the future. These recommendations should be taken very seriously by WT legal department which should move the GB to make policy changes to avoid major legal problems. Only time will tell if the GB are too braindead stupid in interpreting scripture so as not to follow these very reasonable recommendations.

  We recommend that the Jehovah’s Witness organisation abandon its application of the two-witness rule in cases involving complaints of child sexual abuse (Recommendation 16.27), revise its policies so that women are involved in processes relating to investigating and determining allegations of child sexual abuse (Recommendation 16.28), and no longer require its members to shun those who disassociate from the organisation in cases where the reason for disassociation is related to a person being a victim of child sexual abuse (Recommendation 16.29).

  I won't say ruined but caused me a lot of wasted time chasing after their bull shit of meeting attendance and as a unpaid advertising agent for the corporation's material prosperity.

  That being said I have learned to adjust and change even after 29 years of indoctrination. It wasn't easy but I feel a change at age 47 was good for my brain's neuroplasticity I'm now 64 and have many new interests that make life better and more worth living then the bull shit the WT crammed down my throat.

  Leah Remini to do episode on JW's

  saw this on reddit so this is a bit of a copy/paste jobie but i thought there would be people here excited about this as i am.

  i've enjoyed her show on scientology and seems like in season 3 she is branching out with jw's getting the first episode.

  .I can see it now (the cart work), for the last time we are not a cult..

  Yup! I think the notoriety that they are and end of the world mind control cult has cause many not to stand to close to their carts to avoid this type of confrontation. At least in my area they are no where insight just empty carts at libraries and other public places.

  This does not bode well for the Governing Body of Imbeciles all this public exposure of their evil policies that cause great harm their members. No way will the GB be able to live this one down and it will only get far worse for them from here on.

  I'm also thinking KHs that have the most potential for future child molestation lawsuits will be on the early auction block. I would watch these KHs that already cost the WT in the way of lawsuits they no doubt will be up for sale in the near future.

  i was just thinking at how quickly the process was from pimi - pimo - pomo.

  i must of spent about 10 years trudging along in the organization very unhappily.

  but from the initial stages of learning ttatt to physically walking out the door the process took about 18 months.

  No reason to hang on to employees and branches not making profit for them.

  This is very true of Kingdom halls too. I think they will prefer to sell KHs that are not sending them enough money to substantiate their keeping them, a kind of triage of save the top money makers for last. As the contributions continue to nosedive and meeting attendance keeps dropping, we should see the pace pick up of KHs put on the real estate market.

  The question is: how long can WT keep up this ever increasing rate before they go belly up?

  Also another reason they are unloading lots of real estate is to give the courts a low balling financial figure to avoid huge pay outs to child molestation lawsuits.
